Discover Les Villettes

Chateau les Villettes was constructed between 1875 and 1880 in the style of the Italian Renaissance. Beautiful marble fireplaces, gilt mirrors and original hand-painted ceilings are all enhanced by a delightful use of light and space. Tall ceilings, parquet floors and elegant, three metre high double doors opening onto balustraded terraces bestow a sense of timeless quality.

Built during a differently paced age the Chateau is featured in "Le Siecle D'Or Des Chateaux Haute-Vienne" as a fine example of nineteenth century chateaux. The Chateau's grace and elegance provide a sanctuary for those who wish to refresh themselves and their world view.

The Chateau has always been many things to many people: a lover's gift, a family home, a place of refuge for children during World War II. Chateau les Villettes is now the home of Lord Nicholas and Lady Pamela Moore of Nicolforest who would love to share it with you. Whether you arrive as a friend, a guest or to attend a business seminar, you will discover a rare wealth and happiness here. You will almost certainly depart feeling part of the extended family of Les Villettes.

The Chateau Environment

Chateau Les Villettes stands proud on a hill, set in 138 acres of beautiful park and 'La Foret Villettes'. The forest, which is threaded by several streams, includes a lake (well stocked with fish) and 100 meters frontage onto the the Vienne River. In the park you will find magnificent Cedars from the Atlas Mountains, glorious copper beeches and a stately, flowering Tulip tree as well as several 'watering points', granite benches where you can 'sit and sip' while you enjoy the ambiance.

Visitors are welcome to spend the day exploring the forest or simply relaxing by the lake, hoping to get a glimpse of the abundant wild-life. Deer, boar, heron, pine martin and many other creatures find refuge among the woods and waterways of Les Villettes. If you are feeling adventurous there are numerous trails through the woods to be explored, or for the more energetic, Les Villettes has a private tennis court and is adjacent to the famous 18 hole, 72 par, 6000m Golf de la Porcelaine golf course.

Of course, Katy and Kelly are always willing to accompany visitors and help them get the most out of their time here!
